Gary Anderson (motorsport)

Gary Anderson is a semi-retired racing car designer and motorsport pundit.

Gary was born in Northern Ireland and attended Queen's University Belfast.

In motorsport he started at Brabham as a mechanic. In 1975 he also raced (as a driver) in Formule Libre in a car designed by himself and Bob Simpson (the Anson SA1). Later he designed cars for Jordan (1991–1998), Stewart/Jaguar (1998–2000), and Jordan again (2002 and 2003), as well as the Spa series of open wheelers.

He also worked in the USA, at Reynard in 2001 in CART.

He now works as a consultant to Dallara, commentates for Irish television and writes technical columns published in motorsport magazines, for example Autosport. Anderson also appears in The Live Formula One broadcast on ESPN Star Sports providing commentary and technical insights.
